We are happy to announce the newest feature on Papal Artifacts: A Few Minutes with a Pope & Fr. Richard Kunst, Curator.
This feature was born out of a week of short videos during Pope St. John Paul II’s 100th birthday in May of 2020. Fr. Kunst offered several vignettes of items he has in the Collection, which are of historical significance or of great interest because of the popularity of this sainted pope.
Offering these short “minutes” with different popes and artifacts belonging to them allows a glimpse into their lives and papacies. These vignettes are typical of the type of offerings Fr. Kunst introduces when he takes his “show on the road” to different parishes and events. The response is always positive as people love seeing the Collection up close and personal.
The mission of the Papal Artifacts Collection has always been to educate people about the papacy and the men who reigned for the past 2000 years. In Fr. Kunts’s words, “you cannot love what you know little about.”
I hope you will enjoy these vignettes as much as I have enjoyed offering them to you! ––Father Richard Kunst
