Letters of Giovanni Montini, the Future Pope Paul VI: April 1960

Pope Paul VI: A Letter of Giovanni Montini, April 1960
This letter, written by Cardinal Giovanni Montini, was written from Milan where he had been the Bishop since his appointment in 1954 by Pope Pius XII. Written entirely in his own hand in 1960, it contains his signature as Cardinal.
Appointed by Pope John XXIII as cardinal, just days after his election as pope in 1958, Montini was then eligible to attend the next gathering of cardinals to elect a new pope in 1963. And that turned out to be himself: the future, Pope Paul VI.
The letter is in perfect condition and and is entirely in his own hand with the coat of arms of the Cardinal/Archbishop of Milan in the upper corner. Since he was beatified in 2014, that alone makes anything belonging to or associated with him of even greater and more sacred value.
The letter is dated April 1, 1960.
