This item stems from the contact a seminarian studying in Rome for the diocese of Duluth has with a judge of the Roman Rota (the Supreme Court of the Catholic Church). This judge is very fond of Pope Pius XII.
He learned about Father Kunst’s collection from the seminarian. Their mutual affection for Pope Pius XII instigated an exchange of items belonging to the pope. The judge gave Father Kunst the silk stockings.
Father gave him a postcard that Pius XII had written to his uncle while he was a young priest.
