Pope Paul VI: Note Written in 1947 by Father Giovanni Montini This note was written on May 28, 1947, and Mon. Giovanni Montini signed with his initials, GBM in a rather fanciful script.
The note is addressed to the Rev. Alfredo Silvestri while Montini worked in the office of Secretary of State for Pope Pius XII as the sustituto or under secretary of state.
