The Papal Artifacts’ Collection is primarily dedicated to artifacts connected to the papacy. Individual popes, their biographies and multiple items belonging to them, including first and second class relics, make up the majority of this Collection. But that isn’t all it is.
Father Kunst has a deep devotion to the saints as can be readily seen in viewing the Saints & Blesseds section of this site. We invite you to visit Papal History/Saints & Blesseds to view the many canonized and beatified men and women who make up this section of the Collection.
Saint Jose Maria Escriva is one of them.
St. Jose Maria Escriva: 1902-1975
Founder of Opus Dei.
The card is dated March 17th, 1975. It is typed and in German. It reads:
My Dear Friend, I have just received your heartfelt greeting for which I sincerely thank you and at the same time for the dear letter from Peter. That son of yours is wonderful.
Please help me to thank the Lord for my own priesthood.
And do not forget to pray for me that I may always be good and faithful.
Blessings from my heart for you and your entire family.
In the Lord,
Jose Maria Escriva
Rome, March, 1975
Pope John Paul II canonized Jose Maria Escriva in October of 2002.
St. Jose Escriva, pray for us!
