Fulton J. Sheen became the sixth bishop of Rochester New York on this date in 1966. The program has his coat of arms on the cover with the motto he chose: Grant that I may come to thee through Mary.
His Eminence, Francis Cardinal Spellman, presided at the installation.
The autographed photo has an inscription, a token of his gratitude, to the recipient.
Items belonging to or associated with Venerable Fulton J. Sheen may be found on Papal History/Notable Individuals/Fulton J. Sheen.
Although his cause for beatification has been delayed, it is expected he will eventually be given that honor.
We remember Archbishop Sheen in gratitude for the gift of his life and ministry to our Church.
