Father Richard Kunst has formed a friendship with the family of Pope John Paul I and in particular, his niece, Pia Luciani.
He has received several items for this collection as a direct result of this relationship.

The portion of his cassock, however, is a result of a correspondence Father Kunst’s mother had with Pia Luciani. It is a very desireable item particularly when one considers John Paul I was only a pope for thirty-three days.
