Benedict XV: A Handkerchief Used by the Pope with Embossed Signature

The item is a handkerchief belonging to and used by Pope Benedict XV.

The card, complete with the attached red wax seal, was signed on June 22, 1918. It is not clear if he used it on that date or if Faggiani, obviously a papal employee, signed it on that date.

Any item belonging to Pope Benedict XV is treasured.  Despite the myriad work done by this man,, who served as pope between 1914 – 1922, the years of WW I, he is considered the most forgotten Pope of the 20th century.  Papal Artifacts honors the gift of his life to our Church.
