Leo XIII: An Ink Well in the Shape of a Lion Commemorating His Fiftieth Anniversary as a Priest

Popes/Saints/Individuals: Leo XIII

Leo XIII

Categories: Souvenirs

Era: 1878-1903

The inkwell is made of bronze and was commissioned by his family for the public exposition of the firtieth anniversary of Pope Leo XIII as a priest.

It is in very good shape. The head of the lion opens to fill the body of the lion with ink and to dip a fountain pen into it. It is a lion because, of course, Leo is a lion.
